Your Amazing Mom

Mother’s Day is a special occasion for our hearts. It is a time of appreciation for the mothers, wives, sisters, grandmothers, and friends in our lives. While this national holiday has been around for a only a little more than 100 years, the love we feel for our mothers has been around since the beginning of time.

To capture the simultaneous love and awe that we have for our mothers, autobiographer Maya Angelou simply said, “To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power.” The feeling is impossible to put into words or writing.

At  times motherhood is one of the hardest jobs, but also the most rewarding. American writer Mark Twain once wrote, “My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.” Being a mother means keeping your arms open wide, and your heart deep with warmth.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we asked some of our friends here at Cookieskids.com what they love about their moms and their favorite memories of Mother’s Day:

“I don’t celebrate Mother’s Day because every day is Mother’s day.” — Badar

“My mom is awesome, my mom is cool, my mom cooks things that your mom wishes she could.” — Jack

“She is the best mother because she always puts her family first. Also, she’s the best cook” – Sam

On what his favorite Mother’s day custom is, Al shouted excitedly, “BARBEQUE!!!!!”

Margo reminisced on her favorite Mother’s Day memory: “Making my mother breakfast in bed with my brother and sister.” Cindy added, “I remember trying to surprise my mom with this gift that I had gotten, and all day I was looking forward to it.  It turns out that my dad had gotten her the exact same gift.”
